The Nokia 5510 has literally turned the mobile phone world on its side. Designed to keep you entertained while on the go. Escape into your own private world. Starting with the music system that Nokia has proudly claimed it to be, this phone certainly fulfills that role more than satisfactorily giving you the user to choose from various settings such as Rock, Pop, Dance , Jazz, Bass, Extra Bass Latin and so on. The sound quality is really good and considering that you can record songs from the radio, any music system or even your TV from the accompanying cords. The 5510 is also provided with a USB port to allow you to save your Mp3 songs into its 64MB memory. The radio is also pretty good and allows you to save up to 10 radio frequencies (FM) into memory. The reception is quite clear and above average. However it does deteriorate some times. Some people also claim that the 5510 does not allow clear reception if kept in the pocket however this problem did not bother me. The qwerty keyboard is fantastic for sending long messages or even chatting. Sending email also becomes easier as the phone is equipped with WAP. The cell phone is accompanied with 2 CD's one containing some songs and the other a Nokia Audio Manager for installation on your pc.

The other features basically are the same as that of a 3330. In fact if you open the back panel of this phone you can quite easily make out the body of a 33.. series phone. Obviously Nokia has picked up a clue or two from car manufacturers and has decided to use existing bodies in order to cut costs. Even though the phone may be considered large and "heavy" for today's standards most people consider it a very expensive piece and that pulls you up a notch or two in their minds. Animated screensavers, personalized ringtones and rest of the works are of course present as in any other Nokia phone. Fashion freaks will however balk not only on the bulk but also on the fact that the color panels cannot be changed. On the side of the phone two special buttons have been provided for accessing the mp3 player and the radio. On the games front also this phone is loaded as it has five games including the all time favorite Snake, Space Impact and even bumper.

I was surprised to see that the normal hands free which is compatible with almost all Nokia phones does not work with the 5510, in this case the hands free is a kind of "stereo" i.e. there are two inlets which have to be connected to the phone. However there is no composer, so though you can receive ringtones from your friends who are lucky enough to have a composer in their pieces, you cannot forward them. The green LED's of the 5510 are nothing new to look at however certain keys do feel lacking in illumination as the number of keys is very large whereas the LED's are not that bright nor that numerous.

Overall considering the price and features the phone is not a bad buy. However if you want a light small piece which can be carried easily then sadly this is not the one.
